Resolutions

I am so excited for this new year!

As is customary, I decided to make a list of my goals for this year.
I love having things to focus on throughout the year and having a list makes it more official...don'tcha think?

1. Get my lazy booty to the gym (I know....EVERYONE and their dog makes this resolution, but I am for reals. Bye bye chub!)
2. Get straight A's (Or at least mostlyyyyy straight A's)
3. Put effort into a good relationship
4. Serve others
5. Be more diligent about scripture study and prayers
6. Make time for ALL of my friends
7. Smile at strangers and make an effort to touch people's lives in some little way everyday
8. Learn how to use my camera
9. Learn how to play the guitar
10. Try not to over-think things (This one is gonna be challenging!)

A New Year

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
I sure did :)

I love this time of year because of the feelings it brings.
Everyone tries a little harder, to be a little kinder.
Our focus turns even more so to the Savior.
As I reflected this year about his birth, I was filled with such intense gratitude.
I will be forever grateful for the birth of that precious baby and for his life and love.

I am so excited for the New Year.
It is a time of new beginnings; a time for reinventing.
I have many new goals for the year, and one of those goals includes getting back to blogging!

I love to blog.
I love typing my feelings out.
I love putting my memories down to be looked at later.
I love sharing my ideas with you guys and hearing yours in return.
But lately, I have let the hustle and bustle of my life take over!

I have discovered that I need to learn how to balance my priorities.
I want to make time for The Lord, school, friends, and myself.
I truly believe that we are happier when we have a purpose.
We are happier when we feel that everything that is important to us, is getting enough of our attention.
I want to give the best part of myself to everyone I care about, not just little fragments.

This New Year, I vow to discover how to be the best possible ME, that I can be :)

What are some of your goals for the New Year?

P.S. My parents surprised me with my first DSLR! I am so excited to start learning more about Photography. I am also excited to document my progress on this blog....and to look back and see how my skills have improved (hopefully!)

Wish me luck :)

New and Improved

This semester in school, I am taking a lot of hard classes.

I firmly believe that even though part of being a grown-up involves dealing with stress and being responsible, we all need an outlet.

Some way that we can express ourselves.

A way to discover new talents and interests.

For some, this outlet is art.

For others it is sports.

For me, some outlets include cooking, music, and crafting.

This new school year is bringing some new creative outlets into my life.

I am taking a Sewing class, and an Interior Design class.

Now you may be thinking, those sound so fun....and you would be right.

They are also really involved and tricky (sewing).

But you know what? We all need a challenge.

Something that gets us out of our comfort zone so that we can grow and discover our strengths.

So, I challenge you to develop one of your talents.

Or, just pick a skill or art that you would like to learn.

And if all else fails, laughter is always the perfect outlet.

Lets make this year a year of growth and self-discovery.

Be the best possible version of you that you can be.

Quote of the Day

YES! Let's water our frickin' creative grasses!

Yes, I know...that was an extremely deep and philosophical metaphor. You're welcome.

Also, I am happy to inform you that I am in the process of getting a blog design.

I am excited to see what the finished product will be like....and I'm sure you are all excited to have something besides a plain background to look at :)
